Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] j4's recent post, I know now that there is a thing called Google Scribe. Which tries to second guess you as you type.

If you put in one word, then just begin accepting every auto-completion it offers you by hitting 'return', it generates rubbish. But fairly high-quality, almost coherent rubbish. I wonder if its main use will be by spammers to generate "real" text for emails.

An extract...

Music Videos and Lyrics search engine for stock photography, photos and more at the source of the contents of these forums as a guest which gives you limited access to view most discussions and access our other features of the invention is to provide and maintain their own calendars and schedules for their employees and their families in their homes and their lives are nothing but another form of therapy for these patients is not known whether these are the only ones who can not afford to pay for their own users and groups to their Friends / Favorites list yet, so I'ma keep popping up in their own right and do not want to be related to their particular field or industry in which they are attached to their respective owners and are strictly for viewing and printing of these books are nothing but another form of therapy for...

And at that point, I decided it'd reached a steady state (and some more returning confirmed that it had indeed).

Nothing but another form of therapy indeed. Divination for the modern age, I reckon. Probably David Bowie will use it to write lyrics.

Thank you - I now have a unresolved plot bunny about a character using the contents of his spam filters to predict terrible catastrophes and suffering Cassandra-like indiference from the rest of the world.

Does he ever predict that he's won $703.17 in an overseas lottery?

I got the 'invention...' attractor from the word 'tabulator'.

Like most divination systems, there is a surprisingly limited repertoire of readings:

"Gravel and sand pits and their families in their homes and their lives are nothing but another form of therapy ..."

"Trousers & Shorts Clearance Sale at Wet Seal in their own right and do not want to be related to their particular field or industry ..."

"Experimenting with these tags: _HTML_UNK_ link, _HTML_UNK_ bold, _HTML_UNK_ italics added to body weight ratio was significantly higher in these patients ...."

But that's not the only one - I also found:

"Tropism of human cytomegalovirus infection in the United States and Canada and their territories and total client assets of approximately 1 to 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful to your business partners and customers together to participate in these features is the ability to make and use them together to make anything of it until I was introduced to them by their fruits ye shall know them by their fruits ye shall know them by their fruits ye shall know them by their fruits ye shall know ..."

by their fruits ye shall know them

Well if that isn't apoplectic apocalyptical prophesying, I don't know what is.

So how long before someone translates the complete works of Shakespeare into gibberish using it?

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day in the life of their own and do not want to be related?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate climates of the world's largest international multimedia news agency!

(The mildly interesting bit is that in the second line I stopped typing after the "and" - it got the "more temperate" bit correct.)

This is huge fun but a time-sink of the first order. It's surprising (or not) how much pops up with the original stuff, and how much is ... different. I think I shall long remember "For in that sleep of death what dreams may come /
When we have any questions or concerns about these privacy policies".

To be or not to be, and they are nothing but another form of therapy for these patients
Whether tis nobler in the minds of their owners and are strictly for viewing and printing
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
or to take any action before consulting with a healthy scalp
And by opposing end theme song for their album. To die;:::; xnav
No more than one statement in any room of your home
The heart-ache and the thousands of people who have been involved in these processes
That flesh is heir to the throne of God and their fellowmen and earn an income
Devoutly to be able to see this on the map or by adding a new direction
To sleep, perchance to work with them to their owners with their original licenses
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have any questions or concerns about these privacy policies
Must give us pause to consider their own personality and style

Yes, that is particularly fine.

The most noticable thing to me is that you have to stop at arbitrary points. Google Scribe seems to be enjoying a constant game of Cheddar Gorge, and is very bad at finishing sentences if left to its own devices and they are nothing but another form of therapy...

Hmmm yes...

All the world's a stage, and the payment method selected by you for the abuse report to the Board of Directors
They have their own unique style of music;
And one man in the world of the living room and dining room,
His acts being seven ages.
At first the infant is not a valid stream resource in C minor for Piano
And then the whining school-boy days ago by J. A. Jance is the best way to get around them and they are nothing but a hoax and a scare tactic
And then the lover of their dreams and goals into account the fact that they are not therefore to be understood
Then a soldier came to the conclusion that the only way to get a good deal of the day and night to make sure that the following conditions are met
And then the justice system and the other is a new and improved version of the Macromedia Flash Player to view this video in a new window in your browser
The sixth age shifts Into the lean and obese subjects with and without the need for a new account or login
Last scene of all time and the user has to do with the fact that the two are not the only one who can not afford to pay for the cost of the project

I want to see this performed on stage!
